Companions and chat

Bring companions into one conversation

Group Chat lets several AI companions take part in the same scene. Each character responds in their own role, while your messages and the group context give them something to react to.

Conversation starting points

Create the group

Group Chat is an Ultimate feature. Use the plus control in the chat list, switch from Private to Group Chat, and choose at least two companions. You can select up to three and include supported custom characters.

An optional name helps you recognize the thread later. Give the scene a simple premise before adding several competing plotlines: the characters should know where they are and why they are talking.

Keep each character's continuity clear

A group does not automatically make every participant share the same memories. Lorebook and older memory settings can be selected per companion. Reusing a book can carry established continuity; a separate book keeps a different storyline apart.

Check a book before editing it. If several chats use the same book, the edit affects those chats rather than making an independent copy for each one.

Adjust the group, not a different thread

Set the mode, thinking level and scene clock in the group's own settings. An account default is for new chats and does not necessarily update an existing group.

Group photos are supported, with media costs separate from text access. Group voice calls are labelled beta. A participant's stopped reply can be shown separately while other companions continue responding.

Questions

How many companions can join?

A group uses two or three AI companions. Choose them in the Group Chat tab when starting the thread.

Is group chat included in Premium?

No. Group Chat requires Ultimate. Premium lorebooks can be used in private chats, but that does not unlock the group feature.

Can I use my own character?

You can mix supported custom characters with catalogue companions when selecting the group.

Does every companion get the same memories?

No. Continuity is selected per companion. Check their individual book or legacy memory scope rather than assuming the group has one universal memory.

Who will you talk to first?

Find a companion, start a conversation and see where it goes.
