Give the conversation a clear beginning
Open a companion and tell them a little about the scene you want. A location, the relationship between the characters and the tone are usually more useful than a vague request to be interesting. You can describe ordinary actions between asterisks when you want to distinguish them from dialogue.
Your companion is an AI character. A message-delivery label shows progress in the chat, not a human reading your private messages.
Change the reply format
SMS mode favors several shorter messages. Paragraph mode favors a longer response. Change the active conversation in Chat Settings; set the default for future chats in User Settings. Updating an account default does not rewrite the settings of every existing thread.
Chat mode and thinking level are separate from reply format. We include S3 and X-3 on every plan, S5 on Premium and Ultimate, and S4 on Ultimate. In S3, S4 or S5, open the chat's gear icon, choose Thinking level and save the change. Max requires Ultimate; X-3 has no adjustable thinking level. Higher thinking can add waiting time. Use SMS or Paragraph to choose reply length.
Keep an ongoing story manageable
Use one conversation for a continuing plot and a separate thread for a different premise. Memory can bring details forward, while paid-plan lorebooks let you organize story facts. If a reply contradicts an important event, correct it directly rather than adding several new instructions at once.

Separate chat access from media
Text allowances come from your plan. Voice calls cost 50 Moments per minute and need microphone permission and compatible browser audio. A call that never connects is not charged. We transcribe speech and delete the audio; the text remains for conversation continuity. Check your account's eligibility and balance before connecting. You can also keep the conversation text-only.

Can I use Secrets AI as an AI girlfriend chatbot?
Yes. Choose an adult fictional companion and begin a conversation. You can use a romantic tone, casual dialogue or a story setting, within our content rules.
Can I change the language?
Companions generally follow the language you use in chat. Tell them your preference clearly if the conversation changes language unexpectedly.
Why is a reply taking longer?
Connection conditions and the selected thinking level can affect waiting time. Delivered means we received the message, not that the complete reply is ready. Avoid repeatedly sending the same message while a reply is still processing.
Is chat unlimited?
Premium and Ultimate include unlimited messaging. Free has a daily allowance. Image generation, video and calls have separate Moments costs.
